Mining Drill (Immersive Engineering)
This page is about the Immersive Engineering Mining Drill. For other uses, see Mining Drill .

The Mining Drill is a tool added by Immersive Engineering. It is powered by Biodiesel, and can be filled directly from a Refinery.
The Mining Drill (when crafted) does not come with a Drill Head. It needs either an Iron Drill Head or a Steel Drill Head installed. To install a Drill Head, the Mining Drill should be placed in an Engineer’s Workbench, and the corresponding Drill Head should be placed in the top of the four «upgrade slots» (shift-clicking should work though, too).
The Mining Drill can be used without a Drill Head, however, it is slower and less efficient than a Wooden Pickaxe, and not very well worth it. The Drill Head will determine the mining area, level, speed, attack damage and durability of the Mining Drill. Steel is better than Iron, but both are much better than using no Drill Head whatsoever.
The Mining Drill has a special hitting animation. Although it makes each hit look slower, it is nothing but visual.
The Mining Drill does not work underwater- for this, a Pressurized Air Tank upgrade is needed.
Upgrades
The Mining Drill can be upgraded through an Engineer’s Workbench. Three slots are available for upgrades (and one more for a Drill Head).
List of Upgrades
The two Drill Heads (the Iron Drill Head and Steel Drill Head) technically count as upgrades, although the drill is rarely used without them.
Refinery (Immersive Engineering)
This page is about the Refinery added by Immersive Engineering. For other uses, see Refinery .

The Refinery is a 3x5x3 multi-block added by Immersive Engineering. It is used to make Biodiesel.

Construction
The Refinery is relatively complicated to make. It uses:
After it is complete, right-clicking the central Heavy Engineering Block with an Engineer’s Hammer will finish the multiblock.
Pre 0.8
This information pertains to an older version of the mod.
The Refinery is relatively complicated to make. The first layer contains a ‘t’ cross of 5 Light Engineering Blocks, 2 Heavy Engineering Blocks and 8 Steel Scaffoldings. The second layer is almost solid Sheet Metal Blocks (12 of them), but the left-most center block is a Heavy Engineering Block, but the right-most center block is a Light Engineering Block, and the very center block is air. The third and final layer is a solid layer of Sheet Metal Blocks (12 of them), except for the 3 center air blocks.
This uses 8 Steel Scaffoldings, 6 Light Engineering Blocks, 24 Sheet Metal Blocks and 3 Heavy Engineering Blocks total.
After it is fully arranged, the player must right-click the center of the front of the longer side (which should be a Heavy Engineering Block with a Light Engineering Block under it, but nothing but Air above it) with an Engineer’s Hammer, then the multi-block is complete.
Pre 0.6
This information pertains to an older version of the mod.
The first layer contains a ‘t’ cross of 5 Light Engineering Blocks, 2 Heavy Engineering Blocks and 8 Steel Scaffoldings. The second layer is almost solid Heavy Engineering Blocks (13 of them), but the left-most center block is a Light Engineering Block, and the very center block is air. The third and final layer is a solid layer of Heavy Engineering Blocks (12 of them), except for the 3 center air blocks.
This uses 8 Steel Scaffoldings, 6 Light Engineering Blocks and 27 Heavy Engineering Blocks total.
After it is fully arranged, the player must right-click the center of the front of the longer side (which should be a Heavy Engineering Block with a Light Engineering Block under it, but nothing but Air above it) with an Engineer’s Hammer, then the multi-block is complete.

Usage
The front-bottom-center block is used to output Biodiesel. The two side-bottom-center blocks are used to input Plant Oil and Ethanol. Redstone Flux (RF) is input from the back-center block, and the multi-block’s processes can be halted via Redstone through the «control panel», the block with the red dot.
Every tick, the Refinery consumes up to 8 mB of Plant Oil, 8 mB of Ethanol, and 80 Redstone Flux, while generating 16 mB of Biodiesel. It takes 3.125 seconds to make one bucket of Biodiesel. Put another way, the Refinery is able to produce two buckets of Biodiesel every 6.25 seconds. Since a bucket of Biodiesel burns for 6.25 seconds in a Diesel Generator, a Refinery operating at full capacity is able to sustain two Diesel Generators at once.
